At Kotobukiya, the line between kit and display piece often comes down to one practiced move: the Japanese traditional manufacturer makes statues, figures, and model kits spanning anime, game, and comic worlds. Anyone who takes their shelf seriously can barely avoid the name – and anyone who likes building it themselves, even less so.

Some manufacturers deliver figures, Kotobukiya delivers arguments for a bigger display case: founded in Tokyo in 1953, the company counts among the established names in the Japanese collector industry and has built a reputation for detail accuracy over decades. Famous above all are the statues of the ARTFX family and the Bishoujo line, which translates characters from comics, film, and anime into elegant illustration style. Add to that a second specialty: plastic model kits to build yourself, which return a hands-on dimension to the hobby. At Elbenwald you'll find a selection of Kotobukiya products spanning the licensed worlds – from Japanese series heroes to Western icons, each with the ambition that you recognize the original instantly. The range spans from compact shelf pieces to statues with a grand entrance.
The range between finished statue and kit. If you want to unbox and display, you reach for the statues – cleanly executed poses, precise paintwork, often with elaborate bases. If you consider the journey the goal, you take a model kit and spend an evening with parts, instructions, and growing anticipation; many kits already come pre-molded in color and forgive beginners their first attempt. This dual role is exactly why the manufacturer is so valued among collectors: it serves both the display case and the workbench. Add to that a licensing portfolio that confidently mixes Japanese and Western pop culture – not many brands bring anime heroines and comic-book knights to the shelf with the same ease. In short: a manufacturer that serves both halves of a collector's heart.
Statues, collectible figures, and model kits for brands across anime, gaming, and Western pop culture. The current range is shown in this page's overview; whether an item comes fully assembled or as a kit is noted on the product page.
A Japanese traditional company, founded in Tokyo in 1953, specializing in detail-rich statues and plastic model kits. Well-known lines include the ARTFX statues and the Bishoujo series.
Yes. Kotobukiya manufactures as an official licensing partner of the respective brands; you'll find the license notice on the product or packaging. Elbenwald carries exclusively officially licensed goods.
The entry point runs through the figures, where all formats come together. Display-case leading roles are taken by the scale figures with scale and detail ambition, while the action figures offer freedom of movement. Anyone whose fandom leans more Eastern can browse the Anime world, controller natures take the Gaming exit – and for the undecided, there are the gift ideas.
Japan's figure scene is well staffed: Good Smile Company defines the chibi format with Nendoroids, Max Factory stands for figma poseability, Banpresto for prize figures with collector appeal, and Bandai for the truly massive portfolio. Comparing pays off – display cases, after all, tend to grow with their tasks.
