Da "Avatar: The Last Airbender" is an animated series, there is no filming in the traditional sense. Nevertheless there are many interesting anecdotes about the series and its creators. Here's one you might not know:
During production of the series, the creators, Michael Dante DiMartino and Bryan Konietzko, were constantly to ensure the quality of the animation. They worked closely with the South Korean animation studio animation studio DR Movie to achieve the desired look and style of the series.
One day they received a set of animated sequences from the episode "The Waterbending Scroll". In one scene, Aang and Katara were asked to practise waterbending. To their surprise, DiMartino and Konietzko discovered, that in the final animated segment, the characters were practising firebending instead! Although it was obviously a mistake, it caused many laughs in the production office, and the scene was, of course, corrected before it aired. corrected before it aired.
