Jared Leto's method acting as the Joker
.Jared Leto is known for his method acting, where he gets deep into his characters. During the filming of "Suicide Squad", Leto always stayed in character as the Joker, even when the cameras weren't rolling. To get his co-stars and the crew in the right mood and to make the atmosphere on set authentic, Leto went so far as to send his colleagues unusual "gifts"
. Some of these gifts included live rats, which he sent to Margot Robbie (Harley Quinn), and bullets, which he sent to Will Smith (Deadshot). Leto also sent a video and a dead pig to the entire cast and crew as a sign of his devotion to the character. These unusual gestures created conversation, both on set and in the media, and added to the mystical aura of the Joker that Leto wanted to embody in his portrayal.
